a disposable BIC cellphone, not very green is it?

BIC of disposable pen and cigarette lighter fame has launched a disposable cellphone according to Register Hardware, here a little more info on their site

With recycling and being green so in lately it is hard to see how this phone will set the world on fire, however, it is amazing that a fully function GSM phone can be bought from a company that is famous for pens you throw away :) Perhaps what this tells us is that the standard cellphone, no bells, no whistles, not a "smart phone" is now so commoditized that mass product manufacturers will now start to eat into the low end that Nokia has owned world wide. Should be fun to watch.
